Help is here with hope and a home

New Beginnings provides transitional living for survivors and families of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We offer families a safe, community-based living environment, for up to a year. We are located in Farmington, New Mexico.

The emphasis is breaking the cycle of violence, being safe and becoming independent. Support services include helping residents locate and secure permanent housing and employment while providing life skills and independent living assistance. Our mission is to help survivors and their families learn to heal and thrive.

Who is eligible?

Survivors and families of sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking, who don’t have temporary or permanent housing, are eligible.

News and Updates

From Houses to Homes:  It is time to begin updating the House of Hope! House of Hope provides a place of healing for our program residents. These homes date back as early as the early 1900's and have not seen much TLC since the mid- 1900's. With your help we can raise the money needed to make this dream become a reality. Reach out to Devin for additional questions, and you can donate on our website here. Thank you for your support!

Childcare Program: New Beginnings has a Childcare program for those benefitting from our transitional living program and for children in the community. Our childcare center has an emotional and behavioral focus, allowing our highly trained staff to help children navigate through their unique needs. More info at Childcare Center.

Out of School Program: New Beginnings is helping youth to re-engage, reconnect and thrive during the COVID-19 pandemic.  This fall we will be expanding our program so children can receive schoolwork help, tutoring and mentoring while in a supervised and safe environment. Make a Difference: Our agency loves to get the community involved in the work we are doing at New Beginnings! Below are a few different ways you can help make a difference!

The New Beginnings team has grown to be able to serve more survivors and families. With this growth, we are not experiencing a shortage of available office spaces. We would love to convert our downstairs administrative building into additional office spaces. We need some volunteers to help put together furniture for these four other advocate offices. Can you help?

The holiday season is here and one of our favorite times of the year! However, many of the families we serve do not have the fondest memories of the holidays, giving our agency and community an opportunity to experience the magic of the holidays. If you are interested in helping out this holiday season, you can help by donating items for our Santa Workshop, donating holiday decorations, or by sponsoring a family! Reach out to Devin at [email protected] to get involved today!

If you are a person that is passionate about serving survivors and families of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking and would like to get involved with our agency on a consistent basis, you can join our Committee of Hope! The Committee of Hope is a group of community ambassadors that help with projects and activities that benefit the families in our programs. Email our community liaison, Emmeri, at [email protected] to get involved.
